The Big Data Innovation Challenge is a global call for big data solutions to improve climate resilience by addressing issues in the areas of food security, nutrition, forests and watersheds.

The challenge seeks applicants who are addressing issues in one or more of the aforementioned areas with any type of big data solution, including software applications, APIs and algorithms, utilizing methodologies and technologies such as artificial intelligence, crowdsourcing, data science, machine learning and predictive analytics among others. The World Bank will invite at least five winning projects to explore ways to collaborate in validating, implementing or scaling the project’s reach through pilot programs. The five winning projects will be publicly recognized. Two of these projects, representing each of the two challenge areas, will receive $10,000 USD each.
