We are more than just an enthusiasts group.Hi, my name is Oscar Leche and I am the co-founder of the Arduino Community in Guatemala. I managed to meet most of you guys in events (like the Makers Faire NYC) or in diverse activities or cities i visited. I founded this community in 2012 as an effort to get in touch with technologists and hobbyists in Guatemala who were interested in Open Hardware, the makers movement and developing new technology. Technology for a broken countryOne of the main reasons why i started working in the community was because i’ve seen how for the last 18 years there has been so much talent wasted, as there is not an investment, innovation and entrepreneurship culture. We are working hard in changing this on the technology side. CREA EngineDuring 2015 we took an effort into IoT. With CREA, we started the development of an IoT platform for local entrepreneurship as a free/low cost alternative to current platforms. This year we are working in new improvements as part of this year goals. |
