Conversación con Gemini – Datacenters en guatemala

Guatemala has a growing data center market with several facilities providing colocation, cloud, and connectivity services. These data centers cater to the increasing demand for secure and reliable IT infrastructure in the region.

Here are some of the key data centers and providers in Guatemala:

KIO Guatemala (KIO Networks): Located in Mixco, KIO Networks is a prominent data center provider with facilities in Guatemala. They offer colocation services.

Navegalo Guatemala Data Center: Situated in Guatemala City, Navegalo provides world-class, high-availability data center infrastructure designed for uninterrupted IT services and business continuity. They offer colocation and cloud services and boast various certifications including Tier 4, PCI DSS, ISO 9001, ISO 14001, ISO 14064, ISO 27001, ISO 37001, and ISO 50001.

Tigo DC Fraijanes (Tigo Business): Located in Fraijanes, this is a state-of-the-art facility offering robust security and high-speed connectivity. Tigo Business also provides cloud solutions, including Cloud Azure and AWS storage.

IPXON Guatemala (IPXON Networks): Located in Guatemala City, IPXON’s Tier III Datacenter provides robust data hosting solutions within Central America, offering secure infrastructure in a strategic regional hub.

Datacenter Guatemala (Datacenter Guatemala): Located in Guatemala City, this data center offers a range of services including domain registration, shared hosting, reseller hosting, VPS, online backup, dedicated servers, colocation, and cloud services.

LOQUI: LOQUI operates data centers in Guatemala City with Tier II® Ready and Tier III® Pre-Certified classifications. They emphasize high availability, security, and scalability, with features like 24/7 video surveillance, biometric access control, and robust cooling systems.

Claro Cloud: While not a physical data center for external colocation in the traditional sense, Claro Cloud offers “Data Center Virtual” services, providing cloud infrastructure with virtual servers, VLANs, and firewalls, leveraging their network and infrastructure.

GBM Guatemala: Their data center in Guatemala City opened in 2013 and holds a Tier III certificate.

Sout-t: A datacenter specialized in providing services to micro, small and medium enterprises

Boss: implemented by INNOVA Telco in Quetzaltenango

IFX (Ufinet): implemented in Mixco in Naranjo/Bosques San Nicolas

Key Trends and Considerations:

Growing Demand: The colocation market in Guatemala is experiencing significant growth, driven by increasing demand for data center services, infrastructure development, and a strategic shift towards digitalization.
Cloud Adoption: Businesses in Guatemala are increasingly embracing cloud computing, big data analytics, and digital transformation, which fuels the need for robust data center infrastructure.
Connectivity: Data centers in Guatemala offer strong connectivity, often with direct access to leading content providers and fiber optic networks.
Security and Redundancy: Providers emphasize high levels of security (e.g., 24/7 monitoring, biometric access) and redundancy (e.g., N+1, N+2 power configurations, redundant batteries) to ensure business continuity and data protection.
Certifications: Several data centers hold international certifications (like Tier classifications from Uptime Institute, ISO standards, PCI DSS) to demonstrate their adherence to high industry standards.

When choosing a data center in Guatemala, businesses should consider factors such as:

Tier classification: Indicating the level of redundancy and uptime.
Security measures: Physical and digital security protocols.
Connectivity options: Network providers and internet exchange points.
Scalability: Ability to expand resources as needed.
Certifications: Compliance with relevant industry standards.
Support services: Availability of technical support and remote hands.
